Martin Orio presents at Family Science Day in Orange, CT.

On Saturday, October 20th, Martin Orio helped to educate a group of budding scientists at the Family Science Day event in Orange, CT. The event, hosted by the Energize Connecticut's SmartLiving Center, included exhibits, workshops, and demonstrations to help families expand their energy awareness.

Over 600 people attended the Family Science Day to learn about energy efficiency and renewable energy technology, including geothermal heat pump systems! There were a wide variety of activities to take part in, including the popular "Bash the Trash" workshop, where kids created musical instruments from repurposed materials, and then played together as a band.

Martin gave a presentation on the importance of renewable energy, and how geothermal systems can both help their families save energy, and help the environment at large. The question and answer session after the presentation also gave kids and adults the opportunity to ask questions, and learn more about geothermal technology.

Marty is pictured below hangin' with beloved mascot "B.B. the Bluefish" from the Bridgeport Bluefish baseball team, who was also on hand for the event. With shows from the Beardsly Zoo and the Norwalk aquarium, The Family Science Day had something great for kids of all ages!
