Calculate Savings with Geothermal
Water Energy Operational Cost Calculator: Download this Excel Worksheet and enter the cost of fuels and the efficiencies of conventional and geothermal systems to compare operational costs between the heating and cooling methods.

Heat Pump efficiency is measured as Coefficient of Performance (COP). For instance a baseboard electric heater has a COP of 1 (it is 100% efficient). Geothermal Heat Pumps in the Northeast have COPs of 3 to 5 (300 to 500%)* efficient.
* For every 1 unit of electric energy purchased, you can get 3 to 5 units of heat from a properly installed geothermal Heat Pump.

Alternatively, You can use the Comfort-Aire Geothermal Savings Calculator, Hydron Module's Savings Calculator or Climatemaster's Savings Calculator to include other cost and eco saving home improvements to gain an overall picture of how much you can save by going green.
